One of the few truly worldwide celebrations, the New Year’s holiday is a fun and exciting time no matter where you are. If you’re looking to make this year a little different, though, taking a trip is a great way to do so. There are lots of options, but here are some ideas to get you started:

Skiing – Take a trip to the slopes and spend your New Year’s Eve on a mountain top. Many resorts have their own fireworks shows, and even offer deals on lift tickets during certain hours. Head over to a nearby resort if you’re lucky enough to live by one, or make it a vacation with a trip to Colorado or Utah.

A cruise – Enjoy a departure from the normal with a New Year’s cruise, renowned for their extravagant celebrations and events. From three-day trips to the tropics to weeks-long cruises across the Atlantic, there are options for everyone’s taste and budget.

Europe – See how other countries celebrate the New Year with a trip to Europe. Whether it’s exchanging miniature marzipan pigs and four-leaf clovers in Austria or feasting on foie gras in France, you’re sure to enjoy experiencing the traditions of Old World countries.

New York City – Perhaps one of the most popular New Year’s destinations, New York City is famous for its annual ball drop in Times Square. Go join the celebration and count down till midnight in the city that never sleeps.

Disney – Perfect for those with small children, a trip to Disney can be a great way to spend your New Year’s. Whether you go to Disney World in Florida or Disney Land in California, you’ll enjoy a spectacular show and celebration that the whole family can appreciate.

Visiting family – If you have relatives that live far away, why not go visit and celebrate New Year’s with them? You’ll get to spend time with loved ones, and if you can stay at their house, cut down on lodging costs.

These are just a few ideas for trips to celebrate New Year’s. Whether you decide to visit family or go international, taking a trip can be a fun and exciting way to spend your holiday, and make it one that you’ll remember for many years to come.

It’s always nice to start off the year with a celebration! Do you have any other fun and creative trip ideas to ring in the New Year?
