Also known as the maple syrup and the lemonade diet, the master cleanse diet is yet another extreme diet that has dieters who attest to its success. The most popular of dieters who praises its results is Beyonce Knowles (Beyonce Diet), who lost 20 pounds on the diet in preparation for the movie Dream Girls. This completely liquid diet promises weight loss in ten days and has been around for over 50 years.
To prepare your tincture for the Master Cleanse Diet mix the following ingredients:
- 2 tablespoon of lemon or lime juice
- 2 tablespoon of maple syrup
- A pinch of cayenne pepper
- 10 oz of spring or purified water (cold or lukewarm)
Prior to starting the Master Cleanse Diet it is suggested that you reduce your solid foods intake for at least one week. After completing the diet, do not return to solid foods immediately. Instead, continue with liquid foods like soups and juices. Within two days after the diet, slowly return to semi-solid foods and then solid foods.
Not abusing the diet is a great way to rid your body of toxins. The diet does however lack nutrients like vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohydrates, fats, etc. That being said, the side effects can be dangerous if you aren’t careful with this diet.
Side effects of the Master Cleanse include: acidity, cramps, diarrhea, dizziness, food cravings, headache, hunger pangs, indigestion, lightheadedness, mouth sores, nausea, fatigue, sweating and toothaches.
