When Washing Your Skin Isn’t Enough

Most people think they can wash their skin at night and it will look great in the morning. Then they wake up to a pile of pimples or a bushel of blackheads that they have to find a way to get rid of. As important as it is to clean your skin on a daily basis, sometimes you have to go the extra step to get it to look good. When washing isn’t enough, try one of the suggestions below.

Face Masks
Face masks are great because they soak into your pores and remove the grime beneath the surface. There are a million different kinds to try, and they are all designed to work for different types of skin. If you want to tighten your pores, try a mint mask. If you want to moisturize your skin, try an oil mask. It all depends on what your issues are. Check out some recipes online or buy a natural product at the store. You’ll feel a big difference on your face if you chose the right one.

Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion works by removing the outermost layer of your skin. This flecks off all the dead cells that are clogging up the surface and leaves room for new cells to form. Your skin may be a little red the first day after treatment, but then it will look like it did 10 years ago. Microdermabrasion works well for acne scars, chicken skin, age spots, and more. The best part is that you can go through the treatment right at home.

Zit Zappers
If you have a troublesome pimple that you just can’t get rid of, you might want to use a zit zapper. This is a special tool that sends a subtle laser beam to the core of your blemish, thereby attacking it from the roots. It’s not safe to use this on a daily basis, but it can work well for short-term treatments. Just press a machine to your face and BOOM! Zit’s dead.

Dietary Changes
You may not need any special products to make your skin look better. The solution might lie in your diet. If you eat mainly junk foods and grease, your body is going to be chalk full of toxins that have to hide somewhere. That place ends up being the surface of your skin. Try to eat healthy foods as much as possible, and drink lots of water throughout the day. Go on a cleansing diet if you have to, just to get rid of the nastiness that has already made its way through your system. With the right lifestyle changes, you should be able to see an improvement in your skin.
