10 Powerful Positive Affirmations

It’s Monday, and many of us have to return to the work week.  Some of you began dreading today, last night.  Others, prepared their clothes in excitement for the new day.

You’re up early.  Either before the alarm clock goes off, or you had to hit the snooze button a few times.  Once out of bed, you slowly start to adjust to being awake.

What’s next? Shower, get dressed, breakfast, get the kids ready and you’re out the door. Now for the commute.  Carpool, drop off the kids, the ferry, the train, traffic jams and the gentle feeling of sun rays on your face, reminding you that it’s a new day.

Work mode begins.  You settle in at your desk or station.  Time is spent reviewing communication, what’s on the agenda for today, any unfinished business from last week, new business that requires action and of course your routine responsibilities.

Four, eight, ten or even twelve hours from now, you’ll be heading back home. Maybe you’ll detour and run a few errands. Pick up some fresh fruit, stop at the bank or fill your gas tank for the week.  At home, you look about dinner, enjoy warm moments with your family or chat with your close friends.  It’s been a long day and you’re tired.

In no time, it’s time for bed.  You prepare to do it all over again for tomorrow.

Here’s the thing, no one has a perfect life.  No one.  But if we can train ourselves to value and appreciate the moments of peace and happiness, then all the other stuff won’t seem that bad.  Life is a journey.  Don’t expect perfection, expect experiences.
