4 Tips for Driving a Standard VehicleTo thoroughly explore and enjoy a country, you need to go on a road tour.

If you’re planning on going on a road trip soon, we have managed to get you a list of truly spectacular roads you should drive during your trips.

Some of these routes are just beautiful, others are dizzying and scary. Choosing which ones to drive is your choice, not ours. That said, let’s jump right in.

Southern Alps, New Zealand

Remember the Lord of the Rings? Ever wondered where some of those scenes were shot? Well, it would interest you to know that Peter Jackson shot some of the scenes around this area. The Southern Alps boast of picturesque scenery that is simply breathtaking.

The forests, glaciers, and beaches make this route extraordinary in its beauty. Driving through this route offers you the extraordinary beauty you thought existed only in your imagination.

Lysebotn Road, Norway

Driving this road is a bit like being on a rollercoaster. The first 25-30km has so many reverse camber bends and tight corners. The second and last part curves much in the way a serpent curves and crops about 1km before you enter a tunnel that curves for about 350 degrees before exiting into Lysebotn.

Cars with less power and even lesser handling won’t find this route funny at all. Cars that have done well on this route include the Ferrari and the Porsche. Oh and be ready for some feeling of dizziness by the time you’re done.

The Atlantic Road, Norway

Spanning between Molde and Kristiansund, the Atlamntic Road is one of Norway’s most innovative and fine roads. Opened to the public in 1989, the 8.3km road was built on a series of small islands and connected with eight bridges.

Because it isn’t that populated or busy, driving on this road gives you a feeling of solitude. And the surrounding beauty of the small islands, water and distant mountains is quite stunning.

Great Ocean Road, Australia

This 240km road located in the southeast coast of Australia between Warrnambool and Torquay offers amazing views. The scenery includes a collection of limestone stacks in the ocean also called the Twelve Apostles, cliff crops, beaches and clear blue waters. This is an amazing sight that everyone who has driven through won’t forget in a hurry.

Jebel Hafeet Mountain Road, UAE

Some roads deliver such amazing driving experience that people want to just go back and keep driving through it at least twice a year. This is the case with the Jebel Hafeet Mountain Road.

Frequently called the greatest driving road in the world, this amazing road offers an incredibly scintillating and mind blowing driving experience. At 11.68km and with about 60 bends, the drive takes you uphill to about 4000ft which ends in a hotel car park.

We know that this is list isn’t exhaustive by any means. If you know of others, please feel free to share them in the comment section.
