Florida is a top destination for boaters. With areas such as St. Augustine, Fort Lauderdale and Key West, boaters have premier spots to choose to bring their watercrafts.

The Fort Lauderdale has over 300-miles of inland waterways to explore and has been considered the yachting capital of the world due to the 40,000 yachts that call the region home. Key West gives boaters a chance to get out on the water all year round and offers boaters stunning views of sunsets.

Boaters can then travel to Oahu and experience its exotic views of both mountains and waterfalls. Waikiki has many locations that make the perfect setting for snorkeling, swimming and fishing. Boating gives travelers the chance to see the Hawaiian Islands and discover its underwater scenes.

In the San Francisco area, the Sacramento River gives boaters enough water to travel for hours exploring the picturesque views of the city and mountains. Southern California finds the Colorado River, where boaters participate in wake boarding, skiing and speed boating activities.

While Arizona is best known for its vast deserts, it also has a number of lakes and rivers that boaters play in throughout the year. In Lake Havasu, boaters can travel to see the London Bridge or visit Copper Canyon to witness the beauty of the canyon cove.

For a more animal related attraction, boating tourists can visit the Bill Williams National Wildlife Refuge and see more than 300 species of birds and waterfowl. Boaters will also find a little history engraved at Picture Rock, where visitors will see remnants of prehistoric petroglyphs.

Michigan sits in the middle of four of some of the largest lakes located in the United States.

Lake Michigan, Lake Superior, Lake Huron and Lake Erie all offer incredible views of open water and give boaters many opportunities for recreational activities, such as fishing, swimming or skiing.

With 1,300 public access sites, 11,000 inland lakes, and 36,000 miles of rivers and streams, boaters will have no trouble finding water for their boat.

The U.S. is full of opportunities for boating, and is a hobby that is fun for both families and individuals. Boating can also suit a number of different tastes, including yachting, sailing and speed boating.
