You Can Do It!

For the past two weeks, I’ve been bombarded by images, quotes, stories and experiences that scream “You Can Do It!”.  Just this morning, I read an email from an acquaintance with a very encouraging quote.

Don’t wait until everything is just right.  It will never be perfect.  There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions.  So what? Get started now.  With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.”

~Mark Victor Hansen

Earlier this week, I made a personal commitment to communicate with someone who had reached out to me.  Like most people, I have my complicated reasoning with the way I do things.  I agreed that I would only reply to person X if something else happened.  Well, that something else happened. Now, I have to follow Nike… and just do it.

Here is the thing, life is full of problems, misconceptions, confusion, struggles etc,.  It’s true that things will never be perfect.  Yes, we can be perfectionists and want everything to be just right before we take action.  However, you have to know when it’s time to DO IT.

Fear tends to keep many of us from the life that awaits us.  What if it doesn’t happen?  What if I fail?  What if people criticize me?  What if?  What if you make it?

You have to make a conscious decision to actually do something.  Then stick to it.  I could’ve created a million excuses to break my promise and not reply to person X.  It all depends on who are.  Are you a shaker or a faker?

If there is something that you want in life, you have to go after it.  Goals and success aren’t just handed to us.  Anything worth having, really is worth fighting for.

Once you understand, that it won’t always be easy, you will be on the right track.  I read some time ago, that you cannot fail if you don’t give up.  Things might take longer than you had hoped, dreams may be deferred, desires suppressed, but it’s up to you whether or not you get what you want.  You can do it.  You really can.

If you’re currently pursuing something that’s important to you, don’t give up.  You can do it.  Hang in there.  Make it happen.  If success was easily attained, everyone would be successful.  But that’s just not the case.

Make yourself a promise today.  Think about that something that you would love to do.  Something that’s been on your mind.  Maybe a career change.  What about a new romance?  It could be something life changing like quit smoking.  Whatever it is, remember that you’re worth it.  So get out there, get to it and just do it!  Remember, you can do it!
