Get the Date You Always Wanted

When it comes to love, we all want someone who cares about who we are on the inside. But the fact is, the way we look on the outside plays a huge role in our ability to attract potential dates. Did you know we make judgments about people we meet within just a few seconds? Looking and feeling your best is the most effective way to catch the eye of that “special someone,” giving them the opportunity to see all the wonderful qualities you have to offer. If you’re unhappy with the way you look, there are very simple things you can do to improve your physical appearance while boosting your confidence.

1. Smile! Think about it: are you likely to strike up a conversation with someone who looks grumpy and unfriendly? Probably not, and neither is anyone else! Smiling is the most universal way to show someone you’re friendly and approachable, and the quickest way to brighten up your face. If you avoid smiling because you have crooked, yellow, or missing teeth, do yourself a favor that lasts a lifetime by seeing a cosmetic dentist. It’s never too late to get the smile you want, whether you need Invisalign braces, a teeth whitening session, or animplant. Your smile is one of the first things a person notices about you–a cosmetic dentist can help you make sure it’s a good first impression!

2. Exercise your body. So maybe most of us can’t achieve the dimensions of a supermodel, but we can all achieve our own personal “best” when it comes to getting in shape. Whether you join a gym, start walking a few miles a day, take  pilates, or run on the beach–find a way to stay active and burn some extra calories. Watch as extra weight comes off, your skin brightens up, and your sleep improves (goodbye, dark under-eye circles!). You don’t have to train for marathons to see improvement, just be consistent.

3. Drink Water. Whether you decide to start exercising or not, make sure you stay hydrated throughout the day. Water is an incredibly important component of your body and its functions. It helps the body absorb nutrients, detoxify its organs, and keep its metabolism running at full speed. Drinking water is the best way to hydrate your skin too, which can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

These strategies are basic. So basic, in fact, that we often forget about them. But they are tried-and-true ways to improve the way you look, and the way you feel. The confidence you gain as a result will not go unnoticed, and you’ll be well on your way to getting the date you always wanted!
