1)      Love and fear both elicit the sympathetic nervous system, therefore you see the same physiological responses (pupil dilation, sweaty palms, and increased heart rate).


2)      The psychologist Arthur Arun carried out a study where participants had to find a complete stranger, reveal intimate details about his/her life for half an hour, then stare deeply into each other’s eyes for 5 minutes.  He found that the pairs felt deeply attracted after the 34 minute experiment.  Two of his subjects later got married.   Now you know the trick to getting a man to fall in love with you, ladies.


3)      Utah has the youngest median age for a woman at time of marriage at 21.9 and 23.9 for a man.  Massachusetts has the oldest median age at 27.4 for a woman and 29.1 for a man. 


4)      Engagement rings are often worn on the fourth finger of the left hand because the ancient Greeks maintained that that finger contains the vena amoris, or the “vein of love,” that runs straight to the heart.


5)      8,391 dowry deaths were reported in India in 2010.  A payment of cash or gifts is given from the bride’s family to the groom’s family.  In China, however, a dowry is given to the parents of the bride and her mother decides the terms.

11)   The average age that a person loses his/her virginity in the United States is 17.0 for males and 17.3 for females.


12)   Research shows that men know they’re falling in love after just three dates, but women don’t fall in love until date 14.  And they call us the emotional ones?
