A lot of course will depend on your own personal circumstances which will vary greatly from one person to another so what I will do is tell you what I have planned for my wife and myself for Saint Valentine’s day.
Firstly let me tell you that we live in a small town in South Gloucestershire called Thornbury, with me being the lucky one in the family being fortunate enough to work from home. My wife Elizabeth however is not so lucky having to commute into Bristol everyday where she works for a media publishing company.
More often than not if we are planning a night out as we will be doing this Valentine’s Day I will walk into town and meet her at the White Lion in the centre of town near where we will be going for our romantic dinner. It’s our favorite place to meet at whenever we go out for dinner, and just a coincidence that they sell Hobgoblin Ale a drink I am quite fond of.
After a couple of pints we will walk down the road to the place we went to on Valentine’s Day last year Mezze, now a really trendy restaurant that used to be the St. George Pub.
The one thing which is great for living in the in the country, is some nice long walks on a winter or spring evening. With no city lights about, the sky is always bountiful of stars. After dinner we will drive home and enjoy a nice bottle of Lanson Black Label Brut NV that I picked up from Tesco for a really good price.
To make it extra special I have got her a box of her favorite pralines from Brussels chocolatier Pierre Marcolini and a set of exquisite champagne flutes that I ordered online from Forever Crystal who have such an excellent selection it was difficult to make a choice.
My wife I am sure will love them, as it is something she has said in the past that we needed when having a glass of champagne or prosecco.
Now that we have the flutes we will be sure to use for all or special occasions, or when we have friends round for dinner.
