two-heartsThe 14th February every year is a date reserved for romance, and as we head towards this date in 2013, now is the time for you to start thinking about the romantic gesture you can offer to your loved one this year.

If however romance isn’t one of your strong points, read on to discover five great ways to be romantic this Valentine’s Day that are sure to put you in the good books;

Take Her Away

Every woman loves a surprise trip away, and this can be anything from a day at a luxury spa right through to a few days away in somewhere like New York! Handing her the tickets or details of the day out you have planned on Valentine’s Day itself is a very romantic gesture, and don’t forget, with a trip for two, you get something out of it too!

Cook a Meal

If you aren’t normally the chef in the household, Valentine’s Day offers the perfect opportunity for you to cook a lovely three course meal for your loved one. Pop open a bottle of champagne, set the table and play some relaxing music in the background as you sit down to enjoy a romantic meal together and sample the fruits of your labour.

Breakfast in Bed

There is nothing quite like waking up to the smell of a cooked breakfast making its way up to the bedroom, so this Valentine’s Day, get up that little bit earlier, head downstairs and prepare a beautiful breakfast for your partner that they can eat in bed. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a full fry up or continental selection, as even a simple bowl of cereal or a couple of slices of toast with a glass of fresh orange juice should be sufficient!

Flower Delivery

If your loved one is working all day on Valentine’s Day, surprise her with the delivery of flowers to her place of work. Red roses are the normal flower of choice for this particular day, so head out to the local florist or jump on the internet at home and order a dozen to be delivered directly to her. You will need to be aware though that florists do tend to bump up their prices around Valentine’s Day so set yourself a budget beforehand and make sure you don’t go over it.

Make Time for Each Other

Everyone nowadays leads a busy and hectic lifestyle, so you may find that one of the best ways to be romantic this Valentine’s Day is to make time for each other. Attempt to both book the day off work if possible so you can spend the whole day in each other’s company. If this isn’t possible, be sure to clear your diaries for the nearest weekend so you can enjoy a lie in together before planning what you are going to do together for the rest of the day.

There are obviously many other ways to be romantic this coming Valentine’s Day, however if you bear these five points in mind, you will be well on the way to a lovely Valentine’s Day where your other half feels well and truly spoilt!
