Being called a geek does not necessarily mean getting beaten up in study hall anymore, and more and more people are proudly calling themselves geeks. However, it is important to remember that with this burst of popularity, it can be confusing to learn what kind of geek a person is!

For example, are you dealing with a pop culture geek? A pop culture geek is aware of all of the latest celebrity gossip, whether that celebrity is a talk show host, a movie star or a movie director. They know all the ins and outs of the current reality shows, and they may even have detailed knowledge of older media as well.

The encyclopedia geek, on the other hand, is someone who loves trivia and spends a lot of time on Wikipedia. They are seemingly well-read on every topic, and sometimes, they’ll make references to historical or social events that no one else in the group has ever heard of. They’re great in Trivial Pursuit!
