How Google Invests its Money

Google is definitely the world’s most popular search engine. It’s name has become synonymous with “internet search” all over the globe. Even though Google puts in a lot of time and effort to improve its search engine, this is far from being the only thing that they do. Google is currently sitting on $44 billion in cash. Over the last couple of years, the company’s leaders have invested these cash reserves in various projects, not all of them being related to the internet.

One of Google’s most interesting investments is the Luna X Prize. Google has given a pledge of $30 million which will be awarded to a privately funded team which can send a robot to scour the moon’s surface. So far, nobody has claimed the prize, but the deadline is extended until December of 2015.

Driverless cars are definitely something “futuristic” and they have caught the attention of Google too, which has invested $20 million in these vehicles so far.
