Technology is a fast and powerful growing field right now. It’s a promising career to get into if you really has a passion for it, and it is likely to pay off. Being that it is a tough economy, most high paying jobs require at least a Bachelors degree. If you have an interest in engineering or computer science you should look into a school with a good program that will help you obtain a job after graduation.

What careers are out there for technology after graduation? There are plenty and some you may not have know about. These careers are only going to open up newer possibilities and they certainly offer a promising salary.

Computer Programmer

A computer programer generally will take an intensive Bachelors program in Computer Science and Programming. Their job is to write programs for less-computer savvy to use. They make our lives so much easier when it comes to using just about everything on a computer. Computer programmers can make anywhere from $50,000-$90,000 annually.

Computer Systems Analyst

A computer systems analyst generally works within a company or organization. They set up everything for the business, which is including developing, installing, or programming anything that is needed to meet the given business’s needs. They don’t work alone, as a matter of fact their work often coincides with the work of computer programmers and other jobs. Generally a person would have a Masters degree with this given position. That salary of a computer systems analyst ranges from $50,000-$96,000.


Not all hackers are considered criminals. In fact, there are professionals that companies use to protect their business. A professional hacker can aid in the security of the company, preventing any illegal hackers to access company information. They often work with computer programmers. They often need a minimal certification or Bachelors degree. The salary ranges between $55,000-$81,000 a year.

Data Warehouse Analyst

A data warehouse analyst can work both with business departments and IT departments. They provide computer users with easy access to their stored information on a given network. This position requires experience ranging from 2-4 years, although you need to have a Bachelors degree in possession, as well. The job description involves creating and implementing organized ways to store data, and include tasks such as implementing intricate barcoding systems on company inventory and managing products, managing a team of analysts, working with the business department – the range of duties is quite extensive, so candidates are usually flexible in their areas of expertise.

The average salary for a data warehouse analyst, since so much may be required of them at once, is over $100,000 a year.

Systems Software Engineers

A systems software engineer has a strong background in both math and computer science. They use this background of study to create software on computers. Their background in schooling involves at least having obtained at least a Bachelors degree. Their salary is between $70,000 and $114,000 each year.
